Riverhead Town Clerk and Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home Family Service Assistant Tells Stories of Compassion and Civic Duty
During the recent third episode of the “Doing Good” radio show on My Country 96.1 FM radio, the Mangano Family Foundation and Sal Mangano, President of Mangano Family Funeral Homes, sat down with special guest Jim Wooten, Riverhead Town Clerk and Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home’s Family Service Assistant to tell stories of public service and showing up for those in need.
Jim was elected Riverhead Town Clerk in 2023, following three successful terms as a Riverhead Town Councilman. A proud multigenerational resident, Jim’s deep love for the Riverhead community has shaped both his personal and professional life.
He began his public service career at a young age as a police officer, serving with distinction for 25 years before retiring and transitioning into elected office. Jim brings that same dedication and commitment to his role in town government and his role at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, sharing the Mangano Family’s passion for community involvement and investment in Riverhead’s future.
