Firefighter Scholarship
Sal Mangano, president of Mangano Family Funeral Homes, awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Allison Park, a graduating senior from Half Hollow Hills High School West, at a recent Dix Hills Fire Department monthly meeting.
Mangano Family Funeral Homes has established a scholarship program in partnership with select fire departments to assist graduating seniors who have a firefighter in their family and ensure that students have the resources she needs to succeed. Park, a member of a firefighting family in the Dix Hills Fire Department, plans to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a physician.
The scholarship is part of the Mangano Family Funeral Homes’ nitiative to give back to the community and foster the growth of future leaders.
“Allison comes from a firefighting family that has served the community with distinction and she has followed in those footsteps by setting a remarkable example for her peers,” said Sal Mangano. “As a strong advocate for higher education and an avid supporter of local fire departments that serve so honorably, I am proud to support Allison with this scholarship, recognizing her academic performance and passion for public service.”
The Mangano Family cordially invites you to a ceremonial street renaming in honor of Barbara Mangano. The ceremony will be held on Thursday June 12 at 11am on the corner of Weston Avenue and Deer Park Avenue. We thank the Town of Babylon for honoring Barbara’s memory and her contributions to the community.
