This special event paid tribute to Msgr. Rooney, a warm and selfless servant of faith whose extraordinary journey—from his childhood in Ireland to imprisonment during WWII in Burma, and ultimately, to five decades of ministry on Long Island—left an indelible mark on our community and the Catholic Church.
